Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples with precision while prioritizing patient comfort and procedural accuracy.
- Gather, label, and store biological specimens following standardized procedures.
- Process specimens through centrifugation, freezing, and secure packaging for shipment.
- Cross-check test requests with digital labels to ensure correct sample identification.
- Communicate clearly with patients about collection procedures for blood, urine, and stool samples.
- Keep workspaces sanitized and safe by conducting routine decontamination and logging upkeep tasks.
- Adhere to safety standards set by OSHA and the Department of Environmental Protection.
- Accurately enter and update patient records with careful attention to detail.
- Support workflow improvements by troubleshooting issues, training staff, and suggesting enhancements.
- Respond to patient phone inquiries and share lab results when authorized.
- Participate in mandatory departmental training sessions to maintain current knowledge.
