Valley Family Health Care Inc is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to provide essential support for our pharmacological services, including medication handling, inventory management, and prescription processing.
What You'll Do
- Support pharmacological services by assembling, labeling, stocking, and distributing medications.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels using established storage procedures.
- Verify prescription refill requests by reviewing original prescriptions and patient identification.
- Conduct periodic audits and notify the supervisor of reordering requirements.
- Verify inventory received against invoices, noting and communicating any inconsistencies.
- Check and store prepackaged medications; restock shelves and maintain a neat work area.
- Comply with rules and procedures to maintain a clean and safe pharmacy, including sterilizing equipment.
- Contact medical office personnel as needed to obtain refill authorization.
- Count and pour dosage into appropriate containers, attaching prescription labels and refill instructions.
- Maintain records on prescription fills, process prescriptions electronically, and ensure information accuracy.
- Interpret and accurately enter prescription data into EPIC.
- Respond to requests from patients and healthcare providers, answering questions and referring inquiries to the Pharmacist.
- Bill third-party insurance plans accurately and resolve rejected claims in a timely manner.
What We're Looking For
- Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician program or an Associate or Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Technology.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification.
- Current Oregon and Idaho state licenses or the ability to obtain them.
- A current American Heart Association BLS certification (can be obtained during onboarding).
- A minimum of 1 year of supply and inventory management skills.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of a 340B program.
- Experience with EPIC.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
