What You'll Do
Support pharmacists in delivering precise and compliant pharmaceutical care within a hospital environment. Prepare and compound medications following strict safety and legal standards, including sterile and controlled substance handling. Use pharmacy information systems to process medication orders, perform dosage calculations, and ensure proper labeling and packaging to reduce waste.
Manage inventory with attention to security, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance, including 340B program requirements. Maintain accurate records, assist in gathering patient data, and uphold documentation standards. Respond to internal communications and support workflow continuity while adhering to verification protocols requiring pharmacist oversight.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Active pharmacy technician certification or license valid in the state of practice
- Familiarity with federal and state pharmacy regulations
- Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and Google applications
- Ability to learn and adapt to specialized pharmacy software
- Effective communication skills for collaboration across healthcare roles
- Strong attention to detail and organizational capability
- Reliable attendance during assigned shifts
- Physical capacity for standing, lifting, and performing manual tasks as required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, if required by facility
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in sterile IV compounding
- Background in chemotherapy preparation
