About the Role

Allegheny Health Network is looking for a Pharmacy Operations Specialist to provide expert assistance and support for pharmacy operations, automated dispensing systems, information systems, and billing work queues. You will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency and medication safety across our pharmacy services.

What You'll Do

  • Provide professional consultative oversight for pharmacy workflows, efficiency, and automated systems.
  • Develop, monitor, and assess technical workflow including staffing, automated dispensing systems, and computer systems.
  • Support pharmacy management in the implementation of initiatives and coordinate daily workflow, including staffing adjustments.
  • Maintain scheduling, including the technician master schedule, and act as a contact for payroll questions and timekeeping.
  • Coordinate and participate in the orientation and training of new employees, including competency assessment.
  • Train staff on new informatics functionality and enhancements, and provide ongoing system support and troubleshooting.
  • Perform controlled and non-controlled substance audits and assure data integrity within pharmacy computer systems.
  • Support and coordinate upgrades, installations, and implementations of automated systems and equipment.
  • Actively participate in leadership meetings to identify quality improvement initiatives for safe medication use.
  • Provide oversight and audits for technology-assisted workflow systems and lead performance improvement efforts.
  • Provide input into policy and procedure development to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain all pertinent documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

What We're Looking For

  • Associate’s degree
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years of experience with computer proficiency, mathematical skills, and a working knowledge of safety and quality
  • Nationally Registered Certified Pharmacy Technician (NCRPhT)

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation range: $25.10 - $38.91
