Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Pharmacy Operations Specialist to deliver essential support and professional oversight for pharmacy operations, automated dispensing systems, and information technology workflows. This remote role is central to maintaining efficient, safe, and compliant pharmacy services.
What You'll Do
- Provide oversight for pharmacy dispensing workflows across central pharmacy, IV room, narcotic room, and other areas.
- Coordinate daily workflow, including staffing and scheduling adjustments, and maintain the technician master schedule.
- Assist in scheduling, payroll, training, safety analysis, and personnel recordkeeping.
- Develop, monitor, and assess technical workflow, including staffing for work queues and automated systems.
- Coordinate orientation and training for new employees and assist with competency assessment.
- Train staff on new informatics functionality and provide support for system implementations and improvements.
- Perform controlled and non-controlled substance audits and ensure the integrity of pharmacy computer data.
- Verify medication charges are correct and support upgrades and implementations of automated systems.
- Provide ongoing support to troubleshoot complex issues with automated dispensing systems, label printers, and reports.
- Participate in leadership meetings to identify quality improvement initiatives for medication safety.
- Lead performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts, providing input into policy development.
- Maintain all pertinent documentation and perform responsibilities with a high level of accuracy.
What We're Looking For
- Associate’s degree.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Strong operational understanding of pharmacy workflow, schedules, and automated technologies.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1-3 years of experience with computer proficiency, mathematical skills, and a working knowledge of safety and quality.
- Nationally Registered Certified Pharmacy Technician (NCRPhT) certification.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $25.10 - $38.91 per hour.
