Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Pharmacy Operations Specialist to provide essential support and oversight for pharmacy operations, automated dispensing systems, and information technology. This remote role serves as a key resource for pharmacy workflow, system implementation, and performance improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Provide oversight over pharmacy dispensing workflow including central pharmacy, IV room, and narcotic room.
- Develop, monitor, and assess technical workflow including staffing and automated dispensing systems.
- Coordinate daily workflow and staffing schedules, including maintaining the technician master schedule.
- Assist in scheduling, payroll, training, safety protocols, and workflow analysis.
- Train new employees and develop programs for new informatics functionality.
- Support and coordinate upgrades, installations, and implementations of automated systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex technological issues with automated dispensing systems, label printers, and reports.
- Perform controlled and non-controlled substance audits and ensure medication charge accuracy.
- Assure the integrity of pharmacy computer data by building and maintaining files.
- Participate in leadership meetings and identify quality improvement initiatives for safe medication use.
- Provide oversight and conduct audits for technology-assisted workflow systems.
- Lead performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Provide input into the development of policies and procedures to comply with The Joint Commission, Board of Pharmacy, and other regulators.
- Maintain all pertinent documentation and perform responsibilities with a high level of accuracy.
What We're Looking For
- Associate’s degree.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Strong operational understanding of pharmacy workflow, schedules, and automated dispensing systems.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1-3 years of experience with computer proficiency, mathematical skills, and a working knowledge of safety and quality.
- Nationally Registered Certified Pharmacy Technician (NCRPhT) certification.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $25.10-$38.91 per hour.
