Merck & Co., Inc. (also known as Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC) is hiring a Pharmaceutical Information Specialist for its Rahway, NJ operations. You will be responsible for promoting company products within a designated region, building and maintaining key client relationships, achieving sales targets, and upholding our product reputation.
What You'll Do
- Achieve promotion targets for specified products within your designated region, utilizing resources effectively.
- Develop and execute visit plans for target clients according to company-defined coverage and frequency.
- Use appropriate promotion techniques and materials to provide medical information and introduce products to healthcare professionals.
- Maintain high-standard professional visits to increase client satisfaction and build long-term business relationships.
- Explore existing client potential and continuously develop new clients to increase product market share.
- Execute company market development strategies and plans, completing new product procurement objectives.
- Organize distinctive academic activities to promote products based on company promotion strategies.
- Establish, update, and maintain detailed and accurate client data to plan actions and schedule visits.
- Regularly analyze regional situations to identify potential clients and regional development priorities.
- Notify clients and supervisors about service, product, price, supply channels, and market developments.
- Collaborate with market and commercial departments to maintain relationships with hospital experts for tenders and medical insurance reviews.
- Understand market conditions of competing products, collect market information, provide feedback, and offer suggestions.
- Complete various reports accurately and on time.
- Use company expenses and resources effectively and reasonably.
- Master complete and updated product knowledge to ensure promotion information aligns with marketing.
- Continuously learn and become familiar with product materials, using them skillfully and flexibly.
- Fully utilize other materials provided by the marketing department to aid product promotion.
- Read various medical journals, articles, and reports related to our products.
- Understand knowledge of competing products.
- Ensure strict compliance with company SOPs and financial systems during product promotion and daily work.
- Maintain a professional image with attire and conduct meeting company standards.
- Demonstrate dedication and active engagement in the job.
- Actively participate in team activities.
- Share and exchange information with colleagues, help each other, and promote personal and team development.
- Complete temporary tasks assigned by supervisors.
What We're Looking For
- College diploma or higher.
- 2-3 years of experience as a hospital sales representative.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Major in Medicine, Pharmacy, or a related field.
- Experience working in foreign pharmaceutical companies.
