Practicebetter is hiring its first dedicated People & Talent Lead, a founding-level role responsible for the entire people function. You will own recruiting, onboarding, performance & feedback, and company operations to help a small, high-performing team operate at its ceiling.
What You'll Do
- Define what 'great' looks like for each role, run tight interview processes, maintain a strong candidate experience, and help close strong people.
- Design systems and rituals for onboarding that get new hires productive and culturally embedded in their first 30-60 days.
- Build and run review cycles, goal-setting frameworks, and manager enablement to facilitate honest, structured, useful performance conversations.
- Manage company operations including team offsites, internal documentation, benefits, HR systems, and employee lifecycle management.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in people ops, HR, talent, or startup operations.
- Experience working in high-growth startups (10-100 people).
- Real recruiting experience: running searches, managing pipelines, and helping close candidates.
- Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with judgment and discretion.
- Clear and direct written and verbal communication.
- An operator mindset focused on fixing broken processes.
- A strong sense of ownership.
