Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly payroll processing for employees in Japan
- Ensure adherence to Japanese labor laws and tax regulations
- Supervise payroll team members and delegate tasks effectively
- Review payroll calculations for accuracy before finalization
- Coordinate with HR and finance departments on payroll inputs
- Manage year-end tax reporting and compliance filings
- Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve employee inquiries
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in local payroll legislation
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Lead payroll audits and provide required documentation
- Train team members on payroll systems and compliance updates
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive employee data
- Monitor payroll deadlines and ensure on-time delivery
- Collaborate with global payroll teams on standardization efforts
- Support system upgrades and payroll technology implementations
- Prepare reports for management on payroll metrics and issues
- Verify timesheet and attendance data integration into payroll
- Oversee bonus and incentive payment processing
- Manage statutory leave accruals and deductions accurately
- Ensure proper handling of social insurance and pension contributions
