Remote is hiring a Payroll Specialist Lead - Hungary

As the Payroll Specialist Lead for Hungary, you will oversee the complete payroll lifecycle within a global, remote-first organization. Your expertise will ensure precise execution of statutory requirements, tax filings, payments, and compliance, while maintaining the highest standards of data accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary authority on Hungarian payroll practices, guiding internal teams and stakeholders
  • Process end-to-end payroll cycles, including approvals, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Ensure data consistency across systems and support accurate financial accounting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Finance, Product, and Engineering to align payroll operations with business needs
  • Drive improvements in workflows, focusing on KPIs, SLAs, and automation opportunities
  • Mentor payroll specialists and provide backup support for regional leads when needed
  • Work effectively in an asynchronous environment, documenting processes and enabling seamless collaboration across time zones

Qualifications

You bring proven experience in payroll management and a strong grasp of local regulations. Proficiency with SAP, Excel, or Google Sheets is essential, along with sharp analytical skills and a commitment to continuous improvement. You communicate clearly in English, think critically about efficiency, and thrive in a fast-moving, global setting. Familiarity with remote work is beneficial, though not required.

Compensation & Benefits

This role offers an annual salary range of 11,000,000 to 12,700,000 HUF, complemented by stock options and a comprehensive benefits package.
