Lead payroll operations with expertise and accountability in a key role within the People & Culture Global Service Delivery team. This position is responsible for end-to-end processing and validation of multi-state U.S. payroll, ensuring all activities meet strict accuracy, timing, and compliance standards. You will uphold adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations, and play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial data flowing into the general ledger.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and verify payroll cycles across multiple U.S. states, ensuring consistency and correctness
- Ensure accurate wage reporting, tax filings, and year-end documentation such as W-2s
- Stay current with evolving legislation affecting payroll compliance and implement necessary changes
- Act as a point of escalation for complex payroll issues, providing expert guidance and resolution
- Support the implementation, testing, and optimization of payroll systems and integrations
- Design and execute test plans for system upgrades and enhancements to strengthen controls
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and governance in payroll processes
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth payroll execution and timely issue resolution
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of procedures, controls, and compliance protocols
- Balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while delivering consistent results
Qualifications
Required: 5 to 8+ years of hands-on experience in U.S. payroll processing and tax compliance. Demonstrated knowledge of state and local payroll tax requirements. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field is mandatory.
Preferred: Experience with SAP IPP, a master’s degree, or certification as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Candidates should demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and a service-oriented mindset.

This is a hybrid role with flexibility supported across North America. The compensation range is $100,000 to $216,000 annually, inclusive of base and targeted variable incentive, which varies based on company and individual performance.
