SAP Software Solutions is hiring a Payroll Senior Consultant for our Business Applications and Technology team. You will be responsible for executing North America Payroll processes within the P&C Global Service Delivery Organization, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. This role serves as a subject matter expert, guiding complex inquiries and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and control.
What You'll Do
- Process and review multi-state U.S. payroll to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure accurate flow of payroll postings to the general ledger.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Monitor legislative changes that may impact payroll processes.
- Ensure accurate reporting of wages, tax filings, and year-end reporting including W-2 forms.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for payroll inquiries and escalations.
- Investigate and resolve complex payroll discrepancies and tax-related issues.
- Support payroll system implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to increase accuracy, efficiency, and control.
- Document and maintain payroll procedures and internal controls.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Test system changes and enhancements by designing test procedures and executing testing.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain focus on high priority items while managing multiple demands.
What We're Looking For
- 5 to 8+ years of experience in U.S. payroll processing.
- 5 to 8+ years of experience with U.S. state and local payroll tax regulations, including compliance and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
- A high level of professional maturity and sound judgment.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to effectively support employees and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAP IPP.
- Master’s degree.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) from the American Payroll Association.
