Take ownership of payroll compliance across Middle Eastern jurisdictions, ensuring all local laws and regulations are accurately interpreted and embedded into our global platform. You will act as the go-to authority for statutory payroll rules, translating intricate legislation into structured, actionable requirements for Product and Engineering teams.
What You'll Do
- Ensure payroll processes align with regional legal standards and are consistently applied across systems and customer workflows
- Convert tax rules, thresholds, and edge cases into clear technical logic for product development
- Collaborate with Product Design to build compliant, user-friendly, and auditable experiences
- Review system specifications, test implementations, and validate outputs for regulatory accuracy
- Lead end-to-end audits, from planning through remediation, especially in high-risk or multi-country scenarios
- Develop scalable audit frameworks that support expansion into new markets
- Investigate root causes of compliance issues and lead efforts to strengthen controls
- Serve as the main point of contact for regional compliance escalations, supporting swift resolution
- Design standardized processes, controls, and monitoring tools to maintain ongoing adherence
- Align global compliance strategies with regional legal demands to ensure consistency
- Create training resources, documentation, and rule libraries to build internal expertise
- Deliver regular learning sessions and mentor payroll specialists across the organization
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of compliance logic, workflows, and system behavior
- Work closely with Product, Legal, and Operations to integrate compliance into product decisions
- Provide timely, clear guidance during customer escalations and market expansion efforts
- Maintain high stakeholder satisfaction through proactive, solution-focused collaboration
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of payroll and employment regulations in the Middle East, with the ability to interpret laws into system logic
- Proven experience managing audits or compliance programs at a country or regional level
- Track record of working with technical teams to implement statutory rules in product environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners
- Sound judgment in high-pressure or sensitive compliance situations
- Experience coaching and developing others within a team setting
- Ability to design scalable frameworks, processes, and controls
- Adaptability in a remote, asynchronous, and rapidly evolving environment
