About the Role

Deel seeks a Payroll Implementation Manager based in the Czech Republic to oversee the successful implementation and data migration of payroll systems for our clients. You will lead the entire implementation lifecycle, managing data transfer, system configuration, and ensuring a seamless client transition.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end implementation of a global payroll system, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Oversee the migration of payroll data from legacy systems, ensuring data accuracy and security.
  • Gather key requirements from clients to facilitate the onboarding process and guide them through technical payroll aspects.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to gather payroll requirements.
  • Work with the onboarding team and clients to organize and run kick-off meetings.
  • Create, maintain, and manage project plans for successful client roll-outs.
  • Support and coordinate internal and external project review calls.
  • Define and set up agreed client payroll processes, establishing all payroll and data requirements.
  • Ensure each client payroll calendar is managed timely and effectively.
  • Define, agree, and configure all interfaces, reports, and systems configurations for parallel and live payroll runs.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive testing plan to identify and resolve system issues.
  • Generate reports to analyze, audit, and reconcile payroll data, and map GL reports if required.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, status reports, and process documentation.
  • Act as the point of contact for all payroll project matters for the client.
  • Schedule and attend weekly client calls to report on project status, identifying risks, actions, issues, and dependencies.
  • Refer and manage any changes to the scope of work and delivery schedule.
  • Work with the client to sign off on the project, documenting all client-specific needs and processes.
  • Ensure all payroll processes adhere to local tax and labor laws, keeping up-to-date with changes.
  • Implement change management strategies to ensure a seamless transition for employees and HR teams.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in global payroll implementation and payroll operations.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and compliance across the Czech Republic.
  • Experience with payroll systems and software.
  • Client-facing project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

Nice to Have

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Team & Environment

This is a primarily autonomous role where you will set priorities and manage the project appropriately. Regular status reporting to senior leadership is required.
