McCormick is seeking a senior Payroll Analyst to take full ownership of end-to-end payroll operations for approximately 1,000 employees in the UK. This critical senior role requires strong technical expertise and the autonomy to ensure payroll accuracy, strict compliance with UK legislation, and high-quality service delivery in a complex international environment.
What You'll Do
- Manage the end-to-end monthly and year-end UK payroll process
- Review, validate, and process payroll inputs including salary changes, bonuses, variable pay, benefits, absences, statutory payments, and terminations
- Ensure full compliance with UK payroll legislation (HMRC, PAYE, NIC, statutory leave, pensions auto-enrolment) and Sox Controls adherence
- Prepare payroll for approval and ensure timely, accurate payroll execution
- Manage and submit all tax filings and third-party payments within statutory deadlines
- Perform detailed payroll reconciliations (GL interface, tax, pensions, benefits, payroll accounts) and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain up-to-date payroll documentation and ensure audit readiness
- As part of a global payroll team, provide support and backup to other countries including Poland, France, Italy, and North America
- Serve as the primary payroll contact for UK employees, HR, and Finance
- Partner closely with HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and alignment
- Support internal and external audit activities as required
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a UK payroll expert managing end-to-end processes
- Deep, proven knowledge of UK payroll legislation (HMRC, PAYE, NIC, statutory leave, pensions auto-enrolment)
- Experience processing payroll for a large employee population (approximately 1,000 employees)
- Strong technical expertise in payroll reconciliation, tax filings, and third-party payments
- Ability to operate autonomously in a complex, international environment
- Strong internal controls mindset and audit readiness experience
- Excellent collaboration skills to work within a global payroll team
- Strong service orientation as the primary contact for employees and stakeholders
Team & Environment
You will report to Aurelie Berne and work as part of a global payroll team, providing support and backup for other regions to ensure collaboration and continuity of service.
