Responsibilities
- Ensures the integrity of payroll data by detecting and correcting errors prior to payroll finalization and confirming all necessary data is collected and validated.
- Conducts thorough reviews of payroll components such as wages, deductions, reimbursements, incentives, and exit settlements to guarantee accuracy and regulatory alignment.
- Manages the reconciliation of payroll disbursements to confirm correctness, policy compliance, and validation for each payroll cycle.
- Handles statutory compliance including registrations, renewals, and reporting under regulations such as the Shops & Establishment Act and other applicable laws.
- Communicates updates on payroll processes, changes, or policy adjustments clearly and promptly to ensure employee awareness.
- Provides timely and proactive payroll assistance, resolves employee inquiries, and accurately processes final settlements for departing staff.
- Stays current with local labor and tax legislation, interprets legal updates, ensures compliance, and advises leadership on necessary actions.
- Upholds confidentiality of all payroll information to protect employee privacy and maintain trust in payroll operations.
- Maintains statutory records and trackers on a monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis in accordance with legal mandates.
- Addresses audit findings promptly and implements corrective and preventive measures to close observations.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures, control frameworks, and frequently asked questions for payroll processes.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned to support payroll and compliance functions.
