Dexterra Group is looking for a Payroll Administrator to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for various employee groups across multiple provinces in Canada. You'll join a small but mighty team of payroll professionals, managing a specific pay group while collaborating closely with colleagues.
What You'll Do
- Validate and maintain employee master data in ADP for hires, changes, terminations, and transfers.
- Partner with HR on payroll-related matters.
- Capture time entries, create batches, and import data into the payroll system.
- Prepare, calculate, and process payroll, deductions, retro pay, adjustments, terminations, ROEs, and travel allowances.
- Audit and balance payroll registers for assigned pay groups.
- Generate and distribute pay period and monthly reports.
- Prepare union reporting and payment requisitions.
- Maintain strict compliance with payroll processes and audit trails.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and escalate HR-related questions appropriately.
- Support year-end reconciliation and reporting.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma.
- 3 to 5+ years of payroll experience, ideally in a similar industry.
- Solid Excel skills at an intermediate to advanced level.
- Strong knowledge of Employment Standards across Canada.
- Detail-oriented, deadline-driven approach with a commitment to confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- PCP designation.
- Familiarity with ADP or other payroll systems.
- Experience with Dayforce.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
