Temple Health is looking for a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing components of the plan of care and providing comfort, safety, and emergency measures.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
- Implement components of the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
- Provide comfort, safety and emergency measures.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care needs, and nutritional and elimination needs.
- Measure vital signs, perform ECGs, and capillary blood glucose checks.
- Observe and report the functioning of equipment, the results of treatments, condition of dressings, and any change in patient condition.
- Incorporate concepts of the Hospital's Customer Service Program into all patient care activities.
- Adhere to policies and procedures of the department.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- If certification is not present at hire, you must successfully complete the onsite nursing certification program within 90 days of hire.
Nice to Have
- Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program completion OR completion of at least one clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing program.
- 1 year experience in a patient care role.
- Certified Medical Assistant.
- Certified Nursing Assistant.
Team & Environment
You will be accountable to the Nurse Manager or designee.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position.
