Temple Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide essential direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing components of the plan of care based on patient needs and providing comfort, safety, and emergency measures.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.
- Implement components of the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
- Provide comfort, safety and emergency measures.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, nutrition, and elimination needs.
- Measure vital signs, perform ECGs, and check capillary blood glucose.
- Observe and report the functioning of equipment, treatment results, condition of dressings, and any change in patient condition.
- Incorporate concepts of the Hospital's Customer Service Program into all patient care activities.
- Adhere to policies and procedures of the department.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic Life Support certification
- If certification is not present at hire, must successfully complete the onsite nursing certification program within 90 days of hire.
Nice to Have
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program, or completion of at least one clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing program
- 1 year of experience in a patient care role
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Team & Environment
You will be accountable to the Nurse Manager or designee for all activities.
Work Mode
This position is fully onsite.
