Handle patient needs with precision and care in a high-volume healthcare environment. As a Patient Access Representative I, you will manage incoming calls, gather essential patient information, and accurately input data into the EPIC electronic health record system. Your role ensures seamless scheduling for appointments, procedures, and events across multiple medical locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to patient inquiries by phone, following established workflows for medical offices and hospital departments
- Collect and enter patient data with accuracy and efficiency into EPIC
- Verify insurance eligibility and clearly communicate financial responsibilities
- Direct calls to appropriate clinical or administrative teams based on patient needs
- Support patient access initiatives, including digital tools and online services
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Adapt to evolving processes with a positive, flexible mindset in a dynamic setting
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required. One year of customer service or inbound call center experience is essential, along with basic proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Outlook. You must be able to type at least 25 words per minute and demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to service excellence. Reliable attendance and a collaborative attitude are key.
Preferred qualifications include an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, prior healthcare or scheduling experience, and a willingness to engage in ongoing learning.

This is a hybrid position based in Skokie, IL. New hires begin onsite for initial training (6–9 months), with the option to transition to remote work upon successful completion.
