Responsibilities
- Draft and prosecute patent applications in the chemistry field
- Conduct patentability searches and analyses
- Provide legal opinions on patentability and infringement
- Manage the patent portfolio, including maintenance and enforcement
- Collaborate with research and development teams to identify patentable inventions
- Negotiate and draft licensing agreements and other intellectual property-related contracts
- Monitor and analyze patent landscapes and competitive activities
- Prepare and deliver training sessions on intellectual property topics
- Assist in the development and implementation of intellectual property strategies
- Work with external counsel and patent agents as needed
- Ensure compliance with patent laws and regulations

What You'll Need
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to at least one U.S. state bar
- Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
- Strong background in chemistry, with a PhD preferred
- Proven experience in patent prosecution, preferably in the chemistry field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with patent portfolio management
- Familiarity with patent litigation and dispute resolution
- Knowledge of intellectual property laws and regulations
