Responsibilities
- Help shape kitchen operations through planning, team training, and leadership to meet organizational objectives
- Collaborate with the lead chef to design and implement dessert menus
- Stay proficient in all ingredients and methods used in pastry preparation
- Maintain personal efficiency to contribute to seamless kitchen performance
- Model high standards of quality and professionalism in daily work
- Oversee kitchen operations during absences of the executive chef and other sous chefs
- Hold biweekly check-ins with the executive chef to discuss menu concepts, operations, and maintenance needs
- Track and manage inventory of pastry supplies and tools
- Review event orders and prepare purchasing plans for upcoming weeks
- Handle and organize leftover pastries appropriately
- Keep updated records of ingredient costs and pricing strategies
- Coordinate inventory updates with the executive chef and sales team
- Prepare and present pastries for client tastings
- Complete necessary prep work ahead of scheduled events
- Develop detailed preparation guides for each event
- Contribute to the creation of original and customized dessert menus
- Take charge of events when required
- Support dessert menu innovation by exploring new products and methods
- Evaluate recipes for flavor, appearance, and performance under various conditions
- Keep an updated digital library of all dessert recipes
- Attend and engage in collaborative menu development discussions

- Work hours vary by business demand, typically starting at 8 am and ending at 4 pm
- May work between 50 to 70 hours during peak periods
