Role Overview
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished valuation professional to establish and expand a high-quality valuation service in the North East. Based in Newcastle, you will lead the regional valuation offering while contributing to national strategy within a collaborative partnership structure. The role demands strong technical competence, commercial insight, and the ability to guide both clients and colleagues through complex property challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow the valuation business across the North East region.
- Deliver and certify Red Book-compliant valuations for commercial, mixed-use, development, and specialist properties.
- Supervise complex valuation assignments, ensuring technical rigour, consistency, and compliance with RICS standards.
- Advise major clients such as lenders, investment funds, developers, and corporate occupiers with clear, data-driven insights.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Represent the firm at industry events and in client-facing forums to strengthen market presence.
- Lead tender processes, fee negotiations, and client proposals with precision and commercial awareness.
- Ensure all valuation work meets internal governance, regulatory, and quality assurance requirements.
- Support the improvement of firm-wide systems and procedures related to valuation practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Significant post-qualification experience in property valuation, ideally at Partner or Director level within a recognised consultancy.
- Strong technical command of Red Book standards across multiple asset classes.
- Proven success in managing client portfolios and generating new business in competitive markets.
- Experience leading teams and influencing strategic direction within a professional services environment.
- MRICS or FRICS accreditation with current RICS Registered Valuer status.
- Established network and market knowledge within the North East property sector.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex valuation concepts clearly.
- Ambition to build a regional centre of excellence supported by a national platform.
Work Environment
This role operates on a hybrid basis, with flexibility to balance office and remote working. The position is based in Newcastle, with regular collaboration across national teams and client sites.
