Role Overview

This field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) position specializes in Cell Therapy Autoimmune (CTAI) and serves as a scientific bridge between the medical community and medical affairs. Operating across a defined Eastern U.S. territory—including Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and Western New York—the role focuses on advancing understanding of cell therapy and autoimmune disease treatments through non-promotional, evidence-based interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, academic institutions, and healthcare providers in rheumatology and hematology.
  • Support investigator-initiated research by connecting qualified researchers with relevant scientific resources and internal teams.
  • Design and implement regional medical engagement strategies aligned with therapeutic area goals and local clinical needs.
  • Deliver scientific presentations in response to unsolicited inquiries at medical institutions, conferences, and professional meetings.
  • Collaborate with clinical development teams to support site identification and patient enrollment in company-sponsored trials.
  • Represent medical affairs at national, regional, and local medical congresses, providing scientific context and gathering real-world insights.
  • Monitor and report on evolving trends in cell therapy and autoimmune disease management to inform internal strategy.
  • Partner with other field medical teams to ensure coordinated, consistent engagement across therapeutic areas.

Qualifications

Required

  • Terminal degree in a medical or scientific field such as Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., DNP, or PA-C.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in clinical research, academia, or medical affairs within cell therapy or autoimmune disease areas.
  • Familiarity with U.S. regulatory and compliance standards governing interactions with healthcare professionals.
  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills with a focus on scientific accuracy.

Preferred

  • Direct experience in cell therapy or rheumatology, particularly in a field medical role.

Work Environment

This is a field-based position requiring over 50% travel across the assigned region. Regular in-person engagement with healthcare providers, researchers, and medical conferences is a core component of the role. The position supports a hybrid work model with no fixed office location.
