Zirtual is seeking experienced virtual paralegals to provide practice-area-specific support to law firms across the United States. Paralegals will serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients, delivering high-quality legal and administrative support independently while collaborating with Account Supervisors for ongoing guidance and performance feedback.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned client(s)
- Work independently with law firms on tasks and projects as assigned
- Ensure all tasks are executed on time and to the highest level of quality
- Be familiar with each client’s needs and preferences
- Maintain consistent and proactive communication with clients and Account Supervisors
- Be available for clients during business hours as agreed upon with each client
- Enter time on a daily basis using a provided tool
- Respond to all communication within a mutually established response time expectation tailored to each client’s needs
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date client profiles
- Follow Zirtual's best practices for success
- Draft and review a variety of simple and complex legal documents, pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Organize, track, and respond to discovery requests and demands
- Review, analyze, and create summaries of records, depositions, research, etc.
- Conduct legal research
- Perform due diligence and compliance tasks such as reviewing records, deadlines, and dockets
- Act as a liaison with law firm clients, opposing counsel, government entities, courts, and third parties
- File and eFile with state and federal courts and government entities
- Manage internal file organization
- Keep records, maintain files, and monitor milestones for case or transaction management
- Support trial and post-trial activities including drafting trial briefs, organizing evidence and exhibits, drafting pre-trial and post-trial motions, and jury instructions (for litigation paralegals)
- Attend virtual law firm meetings to discuss cases, deadlines, and strategy
- Maintain a personal internal conflict checking system
- Perform file and document management
- Provide organizational support
- Draft boilerplate documents such as notice of deposition, notice of representation, and cover letters
- eFile with state courts and local entities
- Coordinate with third parties to obtain hearing or meeting dates
- Perform basic client relationship management
- Request and gather forms, documents, and basic information
- Manage email and calendar
- Create new matters in case management software
- Create exhibit charts and other organizational charts
- Coordinate signings and depositions
- Attend meetings and take notes
- Perform additional standard virtual assistant-type work
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 3 years of experience handling paralegal duties
- Experience in practice-area-specific legal support (transactional or litigation)
- Ability to work independently with law firm clients
- Strong communication skills for proactive interaction with clients and supervisors
- Familiarity with client needs and preferences
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work
- Daily time entry using a provided tool
- Adherence to mutually established response time expectations
- Maintenance of detailed and up-to-date client profiles

- Ability to draft and review legal documents, pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Experience with discovery organization and response
- Ability to summarize records, depositions, and research
- Legal research experience
- Due diligence and compliance experience including docket and deadline tracking
- Experience acting as a liaison with courts, counsel, and government entities
- Filing and eFiling experience with state and federal courts
- Case or transaction file and record management
- Trial support experience for litigation paralegals
- Attendance at virtual law firm meetings
- Maintenance of an internal conflict checking system
