About the Role
The paralegal will manage and negotiate medical and legal liens, support claims resolution, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements within a remote legal support environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze outstanding liens against claims
- Communicate with lienholders to negotiate settlements
- Review legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain detailed records of lien negotiations
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Prepare reports on lien resolution status
- Collaborate with internal legal and claims teams
- Track deadlines and key milestones in lien processes
- Escalate complex cases to senior staff when necessary
- Verify lien amounts and supporting documentation
- Draft correspondence to lienholders and attorneys
- Monitor changes in lien-related regulations
- Assist in developing process improvements
- Respond to internal inquiries about lien status
- Support timely claim closures through effective negotiation
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive case information
- Use case management software to update files
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Follow established protocols for dispute resolution
- Ensure consistent application of negotiation strategies
- Adapt to evolving case priorities and workloads
- Meet performance metrics related to resolution timelines
- Provide updates on case progress to supervisors
- Coordinate with external parties to obtain documentation
- Support audits by providing accurate lien data
