Wilson Elser, a national defense litigation law firm, is hiring a Paralegal for its San Diego office. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement and is central to providing litigation support and case preparation for our attorneys.
What You'll Do
- Obtain medical records through authorizations and subpoenas, following up diligently with providers.
- Maintain and streamline case data using well-organized discovery and records charts.
- Conduct research via Open Public Records Requests and background investigations.
- Analyze and summarize medical records and treatment chronologies.
- Support attorneys in depositions and discovery by summarizing transcripts and managing key documents.
- Manage document productions by reviewing, analyzing, and organizing files from opposing parties.
- Prepare and organize materials for expert witness review.
- Keep case files impeccably organized and accessible for attorneys and litigation teams.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to maintain a strong team dynamic.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree.
- 4+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
- Demonstrated experience billing time as a paralegal, with an understanding of law-firm billing practices.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while balancing multiple tasks.
- Proven ability to draft subpoenas and maintain detailed records of received documents.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the capacity to manage large volumes of case materials.
- Tech-savvy with sophisticated technical skills, including proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
Nice to Have
