The Trustees of Reservations is hiring an Outdoor Educator, Mobile Engagement

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead interactive, nature-focused recreational programs in pop-up formats
  • Oversee content creation, operational planning, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality educational experiences for participants of all ages
  • Operate a commercial van to transport staff and materials to event sites
  • Support volunteer recruitment and provide training as needed
  • Help promote programs through marketing and outreach efforts
  • Collaborate with local community organizations and partners
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of program supplies and equipment
  • Track and manage program data and performance metrics
  • Serve as a representative at public events and community gatherings
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and experience in working with youth and families
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Compensation

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Work Arrangement

On-site — New Bedford, MA, Fall River, MA

Team

Part of the Mobile Engagement team, reporting to the Mobile Engagement Unit Manager

Other

  • This is a part-time, temporary, nonexempt position
  • Scheduled weekly hours range from 10 to 20
  • Employment period runs from February through September, with potential for limited off-season work
  • Summer programming takes place outdoors or at designated indoor rain locations
  • Events may be held indoors or outdoors based on season and weather conditions
  • Program sites include partner organizations, municipal parks, gardens, public festivals, and properties managed by the organization
