Responsibilities
- Lead engineering efforts for outside plant infrastructure during road relocation and highway expansion projects, adhering to all applicable regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with departments of transportation, local governments, utility providers, and contractors to synchronize infrastructure moves with construction timelines.
- Conduct on-site surveys, field walks, and assessments to evaluate impacts on aerial, buried, and underground network facilities.
- Create detailed engineering designs, construction documentation, and relocation plans for fiber and copper cables, pole relocations, conduit modifications, and associated infrastructure.
- Prepare accurate cost projections, material specifications, and project duration estimates.
- Act as the main engineering point of contact throughout project planning, permitting, and field execution phases.
- Keep precise records including as-built documentation, CAD drawings, GIS data updates, and permit submissions.
- Work closely with internal teams such as Construction, Planning, and Permitting to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Ensure all designs and installations meet RUS, NESC, and internal engineering standards.
