What You'll Do
Conduct in-depth open-source investigations into alleged war crimes and human rights violations linked to the conflict in Ukraine. You will apply advanced OSINT techniques to locate, verify, and analyze digital content, including satellite imagery, social media posts, and geospatial data.
Lead investigative workflows from inception to reporting, ensuring all findings meet rigorous standards for credibility and admissibility. Collaborate with legal experts and human rights specialists to produce well-documented, evidence-based reports intended for judicial and advocacy use.
Train and guide team members in best practices for digital investigation, contributing to a consistent and high-quality output across projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in open-source intelligence gathering, particularly in conflict or human rights contexts
- Strong skills in geolocation, image and video verification, and metadata analysis
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Earth, Bellingcat’s methodology, InVID, or similar platforms
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple investigations under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of international humanitarian law or human rights frameworks is highly valued
- Fluency in English; additional language skills relevant to Eastern Europe are an asset
