Plus Power is looking for an Origination Analyst - Battery Storage to support commercial activities for our portfolio of projects. In this role, you will develop new opportunities, manage responses to formal RFPs, and provide crucial analysis to drive market entry and deal-making.
What You'll Do
- Develop, qualify, and pursue new commercial and offtake opportunities.
- Produce strategic market assessments by reviewing utility plans, attending meetings, and analyzing policy and competition.
- Manage and prepare written RFP responses and support other power marketing activities.
- Coordinate internal resources and teams supporting commercial efforts.
- Support M&A processes, including evaluating opportunities and preparing proposals and valuations.
- Support internal risk controls and compliance, including preparing investment committee presentations.
- Support fast-paced deal making on an as-needed basis.
- Inform market entry strategies by cultivating key customer relationships in target regions.
- Manage an internal pipeline tracker across multiple projects and stages.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in renewable energy and/or battery storage.
- 2-3 years’ experience managing or supporting formal RFPs or public procurements.
- Experience with at least one meaningful commercial project deal from start to closing.
- Understanding of project valuation, pricing, and/or M&A valuation for renewable energy or battery storage.
- Understanding of renewable energy power marketing fundamentals and electric utility business models.
- Basic understanding of ISO/RTO market structures.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data for informed decision-making.
- Ability to explain complex technical analysis in a simplified manner to internal and external parties.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with geographically dispersed teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills.
- Self-motivated and disciplined to manage time and tasks efficiently in office and remote environments.
- Proven ability to stay connected and maintain communication across distributed teams in hybrid or remote settings.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with advanced Excel modeling skills.
