Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine is hiring an Operations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining efficient financial and administrative operations within a collaborative shared services framework. This position supports multiple units, including ICER and HPCC, by ensuring precise accounting practices, timely transaction processing, and accurate recordkeeping across enterprise financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage purchasing workflows and fee-for-service billing for designated departments
  • Oversee procurement of software, hardware, and data storage solutions
  • Reconcile accounts and generate financial reports to support decision-making
  • Support pricing analysis and cost assessments in alignment with operational goals
  • Coordinate internal resources and perform routine office administration
  • Maintain data integrity within financial platforms and ensure compliance with institutional policies

Qualifications

Candidates should hold an Associate’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent education and experience. A minimum of one to three years of progressively responsible experience in administrative or financial operations is required. Preferred applicants will demonstrate a track record in office and operations coordination.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, EBS, KFS, and standard accounting software is essential. Some roles may require certification relevant to the field.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position based in East Lansing, MI, requiring on-site presence at least one day per week—typically Wednesday—with flexibility for remote work arrangements as mutually agreed. Standard work hours follow a daytime schedule, with accommodations available as needed.
