Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking an Operations Analyst to serve as a key analytical partner for Perioperative Services. In this role, you will collaborate directly with clinical and operational leaders to monitor performance, develop insights, and provide the data foundation for continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary point person for all Perioperative Services data needs, reviewing requests and identifying the best methods to deliver results.
- Pull and create monthly operations and performance reports as requested by stakeholders.
- Support the development of new dashboards with effective data visualizations that meet stakeholder requirements.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the data resources available to operational leaders.
- Complete ongoing maintenance of surgical scheduling infrastructure at assigned sites.
- Obtain, analyze, and interpret financial, quality, and operational data from multiple internal and external sources.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date analytical documentation and operational dashboards.
- Prepare ad hoc reports for management to help explain financial, quality, and operational issues.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to assist directors and managers in budgeting, variance analysis, and achieving budget targets.
- Participate in monthly budget variance reporting and support budget preparation and review processes.
- Seek new, innovative methods to continuously improve reporting processes and workflow.
- Identify, develop, and assist in implementing key metrics to measure process performance and opportunity.
- Provide quality control to ensure 100% accuracy and integrity of all reported and distributed data.
- Demonstrate understanding of multiple system interfaces and workflows, identifying sources of truth for data management.
- Train and develop staff on reports, systems, and data interpretation.
- Prepare time estimates for project activities, develop schedules, monitor performance, and report on progress.
- Analyze information to ensure greater integration of functions across the organization.
- Assist in the development of dashboards, budgets, and timelines.
- Maintain regular customer communications and reporting, staying current on developments in patient care areas and tracking all analytical requests.
- Lead efforts to identify and resolve data issues with end users.
- Manage one low to medium risk project at a time.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or analytics
- 2-3 years of related experience
- Demonstrated excellent analytical skills
- Excellent PC-based skills using Microsoft Products (Excel, etc.) and a strong computer knowledge base
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Power BI
