Conducive is hiring an Observability Engineer – Cisco AppDynamics Specialist

About the Role

The engineer will be responsible for deploying and managing observability tools with a focus on Cisco AppDynamics. This includes configuring monitoring systems, analyzing performance data, and working closely with development and operations teams to ensure system reliability and responsiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy observability frameworks using Cisco AppDynamics
  • Configure and maintain monitoring agents across application environments
  • Analyze application performance metrics to identify bottlenecks
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve system issues
  • Develop dashboards and alerts for proactive incident detection
  • Ensure monitoring coverage for microservices and distributed systems
  • Optimize data collection to balance performance and cost
  • Support root cause analysis during production incidents
  • Maintain documentation for monitoring configurations and procedures
  • Integrate observability tools with CI/CD pipelines
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation problems in application code
  • Enforce observability best practices across teams
  • Scale monitoring infrastructure to meet growing demands
  • Work with security teams to ensure compliance in data handling
  • Provide technical guidance on AppDynamics capabilities and limits
  • Assist in onboarding new services to the monitoring platform
  • Evaluate new features in AppDynamics for potential adoption
  • Participate in incident response rotations
  • Monitor for anomalies in application behavior
  • Support cloud and on-premises deployment environments
  • Ensure high availability of observability systems
  • Collaborate on capacity planning for monitoring infrastructure
  • Improve system observability through custom metrics and traces
  • Contribute to post-mortem reviews and action follow-ups
  • Stay current with trends in application performance monitoring

Nice to Have

  • Cisco AppDynamics certification
  • Experience with other APM tools alongside AppDynamics
  • Background in large-scale enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with open-source observability ecosystems
  • Hands-on work with telemetry data pipelines
  • Knowledge of SRE principles and practices
  • Experience in regulated industries such as finance or healthcare
  • Contributions to internal tools or automation frameworks
  • Public speaking or technical writing experience
  • Prior work in global, distributed teams
