Responsibilities
- Manage full-vehicle and component-level NVH analyses using Nastran solvers including SOL101, SOL103, SOL108, SOL111, and SOL200, along with Opti Strut tools.
- Assemble and integrate finite element models for BIW, Trimmed BIW, body-powertrain systems, and structure-fluid interactions.
- Develop and assess finite element models with emphasis on high-fidelity meshing, correct material definitions, and accurate joint representations such as rigid connections, bushings, and welds.
- Create acoustic cavity models with properly positioned measurement locations.
- Integrate and assess subsystem models ranging from basic to highly complex configurations.
- Conduct modal analysis and ensure proper alignment of modes.
- Carry out frequency response function evaluations and direct response simulations.
- Analyze dynamic stiffness, road noise vibration transfer functions, and noise transfer functions.
- Simulate powertrain noise under wide open throttle and idle conditions.
- Evaluate road-load scenarios and resulting interior acoustic behavior.
- Perform post-processing to identify global modes in BIW and TBIW structures.
- Interpret frequency response functions, transfer functions, and dynamic system responses.
- Assess sound pressure levels using units such as pascals, decibels, and A-weighted decibels.
- Execute transfer path analysis to determine primary sources of noise.
- Lead NVH simulation initiatives independently and deliver accurate, high-quality outcomes.
- Produce comprehensive technical reports and communicate results to clients effectively.
- Recommend structural design improvements to meet NVH performance goals.
- Engage with clients regularly to update on simulation progress, deliverables, and support technical decisions.
- Support junior engineers and contribute to team capability building.
- Ensure all work meets client quality standards, deadlines, and technical specifications.
