Responsibilities
- Conducts thorough or focused physical exams and gathers detailed patient medical histories to evaluate overall health status.
- Orders and analyzes diagnostic tests, including lab work, to identify patient health concerns and determine care requirements.
- Prescribes or administers drug therapies and therapeutic interventions in line with approved protocols, prioritizing safety, effectiveness, and cost-efficiency.
- Advises patients on behavior changes to reduce health-related risks.
- Develops and carries out evidence-based, outcomes-driven treatment plans in coordination with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitors and assesses patient responses to treatment to determine care effectiveness.
- Provides counseling to patients and families on illness management, medications, nutrition, and overall health improvement.
- Educates patients on medication regimens, potential side effects, and interactions with supplements, over-the-counter drugs, and herbal products.
- Maintains accurate documentation of patient treatment plans and outcomes.
- Refers patients promptly to specialists when conditions fall outside personal scope of practice.
- Delivers expert-level consultation for medical issues within the provider’s specialty and training.
- Performs invasive clinical procedures as authorized by the supervising physician and within scope of practice.
- May perform hospital rounds, support admissions and discharges, and provide after-hours on-call services.

Position Highlights
- Schedule: 7 days on, 14 days off; shifts from 7pm to 7am with no on-call requirement
- Expected procedures include intubation, central venous line placement, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, and arterial line placement

- Understanding of human disease, injury, and deformity including symptoms, treatments, drug interactions, and preventive care
- Familiarity with methods for diagnosing and rehabilitating physical and mental conditions
