University of Chicago was looking for a Nurse Associate

The University of Chicago is looking for a Nurse Associate to provide day-to-day support in a general pediatric clinic. In this role, you will assist providers in routine well childcare, care of sick children, vaccination of children, basic point of care testing, and patient education.

What You'll Do

  • Collect and document vitals and chief complaint.
  • Obtain current medications.
  • Administer vaccinations.
  • Perform point of care (POC) testing in clinic.
  • Assist with basic procedures in clinic.
  • Stock and clean rooms.
  • Obtain medical records and results as needed.
  • Historically document vaccines in medical records for new patients.
  • Manage the VFC process.
  • Manage supply inventory ordering and management.
  • Manage vaccine inventory and ordering.
  • Complete forms as needed for patients.
  • Apply logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Use knowledge of information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.

What We're Looking For

  • A college or university degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Nursing experience.
  • Ambulatory care setting experience.
  • Pediatric experience.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position located in an outpatient clinic within a hospital professional building.
