Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is hiring a CASC Coder to leverage technical coding expertise within our patient-first environment. In this role, you will assign appropriate ICD-10-CM codes to outpatient visit types, with a primary focus on physician order documentation.
What You'll Do
- Review all available documentation to report appropriate diagnoses.
- Follow ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and Coding Clinics, interpreting conventions and notes to select diagnoses with a minimum of 95% accuracy.
- Meet established minimum coding productivity and quality standards for each outpatient encounter type.
What We're Looking For
- CCA, CPC, CSS, COC certification, or RHIA/RHIT eligibility.
- A basic understanding of coding guidelines and principles related to reporting diagnosis codes for outpatient services.
Nice to Have
- RHIA or RHIT certification.
- Specialty in outpatient facility coding, including hospital outpatient departments and ambulatory surgical centers.
