As a NOC Engineer, you will serve as the first responder for technical alerts and service requests within a secure, high-performance environment serving financial institutions. Your primary responsibility is to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues affecting client operations, ranging from endpoint failures and cloud service disruptions to network anomalies and security alerts.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve alerts related to user devices, network circuits, environmental sensors, cloud platforms, and security systems.
- Manage service requests including customer onboarding, device provisioning, and scheduled maintenance outside business hours.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams, vendors, and clients during incident response and planned operations.
- Document solutions, update knowledge bases, and contribute to process improvements that enhance service delivery.
- Support project work for the NOC and support teams, including automation and monitoring enhancements.
- Propose changes to workflows and tooling to increase efficiency and reduce incident resolution time.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems, including patching, upgrades, and failure recovery.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and associated services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Working knowledge of identity and access management tools like Azure AD and Okta.
- Experience with endpoint management solutions such as InTune or AirWatch.
- Understanding of email technologies, message flow, archiving, compliance tools (Proofpoint, Mimecast, Global Relay), and retention policies.
- Strong grasp of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Ability to interpret and act on alerts from SIEM/SOC systems and antivirus platforms.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Minimum of three years in IT support roles focused on infrastructure, servers, and networking.
- At least one year in a NOC or similar operations environment with familiarity with ITIL service frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot methodically and manage time efficiently during incident resolution.
Preferred Skills
- Background in managed service providers or consultancy settings.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as PRTG, OpsGenie, Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or CloudWatch.
- Scripting ability using PowerShell, Automate Script, or Azure Functions to automate responses.
- Hands-on experience with RMM platforms like ConnectWise Automate.
- Capability to design custom monitors for early fault detection in client environments.
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Server+, or Network+.
