KVIA-TV is looking for a solid, creative, and energetic News Producer to help lead our newscasts. You will be responsible for creating compelling content in a high-paced, deadline-based environment.

What You'll Do

Ensure daily quality and accuracy in newscasts
Drive showcasing, pacing, and content decisions in newscasts
Copy edit and approve reporter scripts
Protect the First Alert & Breaking News Brand
Make sure newscasts are timed properly
Be a good communicator in the control room
Work closely with the Assignment Desk, Assistant News Director & Digital Content Director
Write digital copy for the KVIA website and app
Send out breaking news push alerts as needed

What We're Looking For

BA/BS in journalism, communications, or a related field
Understanding of legal liabilities and journalistic ethics

Nice to Have

2+ years of experience producing newscasts

Team & Environment

You will help lead a team of content creators including anchors, reporters, and photographers.
