KVIA-TV is looking for a solid, creative, and energetic News Producer to help lead our newscasts. You will be responsible for creating compelling content in a high-paced, deadline-based environment.
What You'll Do
- Ensure daily quality and accuracy in newscasts
- Drive showcasing, pacing, and content decisions in newscasts
- Copy edit and approve reporter scripts
- Protect the First Alert & Breaking News Brand
- Make sure newscasts are timed properly
- Be a good communicator in the control room
- Work closely with the Assignment Desk, Assistant News Director & Digital Content Director
- Write digital copy for the KVIA website and app
- Send out breaking news push alerts as needed
What We're Looking For
- BA/BS in journalism, communications, or a related field
- Understanding of legal liabilities and journalistic ethics
Nice to Have
- 2+ years of experience producing newscasts
