About the Role
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining network security architectures that align with organizational security policies and compliance standards. This role involves close coordination with IT teams to ensure robust protection of network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy secure network architectures to protect data and systems
- Evaluate current network security measures and recommend improvements
- Implement firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols
- Ensure compliance with federal and industry security standards
- Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams on threat mitigation strategies
- Develop security policies and procedures for network access and monitoring
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses on network systems
- Support incident response efforts related to network breaches
- Maintain documentation for network security configurations and changes
- Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and anomalies
- Lead the integration of new security technologies into existing infrastructure
- Provide technical guidance during security audits and reviews
- Ensure secure configuration of routers, switches, and other network devices
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Advise on secure cloud connectivity and hybrid network environments
- Stay current with emerging threats and security trends
- Coordinate with vendors and third parties on security requirements
- Support identity and access management integration with network systems
- Perform regular security testing and penetration evaluations
- Ensure alignment of network design with zero-trust security models
