About the Role
This position supports the daily operation of network infrastructure by monitoring performance, resolving technical issues, and implementing configuration changes under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance and system alerts
- Respond to network outages and connectivity issues
- Assist in configuring routers, switches, and firewalls
- Document network configurations and changes
- Support remote access solutions and virtual private networks
- Perform routine system backups and maintenance
- Troubleshoot LAN and WAN connectivity problems
- Assist with IP address management and subnetting
- Install and maintain network hardware and cabling
- Collaborate with senior administrators on network upgrades
- Follow change management procedures for network modifications
- Maintain network security baselines
- Generate reports on network utilization and performance
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
- Assist in patch management for network devices
- Verify redundancy and failover mechanisms
- Support wireless network operations and access points
- Track network inventory and asset records
- Enforce network usage policies
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level engineers
- Conduct regular system health checks
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing
- Maintain accurate technical documentation
- Support cross-functional teams during outages
- Adhere to IT compliance and audit requirements
Nice to Have
- CompTIA Network+ certification
- CCNA or equivalent training
- Experience with Cisco networking equipment
- Familiarity with PowerShell or scripting basics
- Exposure to cloud networking concepts
- Prior internship or technical support experience
- Working knowledge of SNMP and syslog tools
