M&T Bank (Manufacturers and Traders Trust Co.) is looking for a Mortgage Processor III to join our team in Clanton, Alabama. In this seasoned role, you will be responsible for assessing conventional and government loan requests based on product, underwriting, and investor guidelines. You will serve as the critical communication liaison between the customer and the Mortgage department, ensuring prompt and professional service.

What You'll Do

Maintain effective and professional communication with all parties involved in a new loan application to ensure a seamless experience.
Work with internal departments and external organizations to obtain processing-related documentation such as Verification of Employment, IRS Transcripts, title search, appraisal, and bank statements.
Immediately notify all necessary parties of irregularities relative to standard mortgage guidelines.
Monitor, update, and analyze credit reports, appraisals, income documentation, and all verifications to ensure adherence to guidelines.
Perform administrative duties including preparing and mailing commitment letters, reviewing title and homeowner’s insurance, mailing loan suspend notices, and providing closing attorneys with documentation.
Scrutinize loan applications to assess qualification, restructure loans, and recommend solutions.
Review and accept loan conditions based on underwriter requirements.
Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
Evaluate changes to borrower’s fee structure and re-create required regulatory documents using strong analytical skills.

What We're Looking For

An Associate's Degree or two years of equivalent work experience.
Two to three years of prior mortgage processing or underwriting experience.

Nice to Have

Good PC skills with strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Email Platform, and Adobe.
Ability to make sound decisions based on information provided.
Knowledge of Product, Investor and Compliance Requirements.
