TD Bank Group is hiring a Mortgage Loan Officer in Tampa, Florida to originate residential mortgage loans and guide customers through the process. You will join the Personal & Commercial Banking line of business and play a key role in achieving sales goals while upholding our commitment to legendary customer experiences.

What You'll Do

Meet with prospects identified directly and through referrals from realtors, developers, and attorneys.
Explain mortgage products and recommend options based on individual customer needs.
Guide customers through the mortgage application process and manage expectations on timelines.
Sell and originate residential mortgage loans per established policies and regulatory guidelines.
Generate referrals for mortgage sales and other company business line products.
Develop and execute a plan to achieve sales goals.
Enter information into the mortgage loan system to maintain an accurate pipeline.
Prepare and submit complete application files for underwriting.
Underwrite loans using point-of-sale systems within your scope of authority.
Communicate loan decisions and work with processors to clear conditions for closing.
Communicate regularly with customers, underwriters, processors, realtors, and closing agents.
Attend closings as needed.
Develop industry knowledge through training and participation in seminars and workshops.
Recommend changes to products, programs, or pricing.
Ensure successful audits and examinations.
Handle complex mortgage needs.

What We're Looking For

2+ years of mortgage origination experience.
Proven sales ability and negotiation skills.
Developing knowledge of the mortgage industry, products, lending practices, and regulatory guidelines.
Self-directed, with the ability to plan your own activities to achieve sales goals.
Strong time management and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
PC skills, including the ability to learn mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems.
Eligibility for employment with a covered financial institution per Regulation Z.
Eligibility for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS per the SAFE Act.
Satisfactory results on criminal background and credit report checks.
Statements or certification from the applicant regarding findings by any government agency or authority.

Nice to Have

Bachelor's degree or progressive work experience in addition to the required experience.
