Kearny Bank is hiring a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate first mortgage loans and promote our lending services. In this role, you will help identify and serve the community’s financial needs through home loan counseling and local business development.
What You'll Do
- Solicit first mortgage loans and inform clients of underwriting guidelines and regulations.
- Assist loan applicants in completing applications and necessary disclosures.
- Complete loan application and pre-processing functions in a timely manner, preparing initial disclosures including loan estimates.
- Enter data from new loan applications and other documents into the computer system.
- Order credit reports and other items as needed.
- Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments.
- Provide consistent follow-up with borrowers and agents to complete processing.
- Communicate complex approvals or denials to borrowers and real estate agents or builders.
- Respond to inquiries regarding the status of loans in process.
- Complete necessary information such as log entries and business sourcing.
- Distribute Bank-approved marketing materials and general information.
- Actively participate in local business development activities as directed by the Bank.
What We're Looking For
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two to four years of related mortgage or similar sales experience or equivalent required.
- Thorough working knowledge of real estate documentation, policies, compliance, and procedures.
- High level of proficiency with mortgage loan processing and underwriting systems.
- PC proficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
