HERA Organics is looking for a detail-oriented Mortgage Closing Specialist II to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the intermediary for collecting, reviewing, and preparing information for the submission of loans for Closing Disclosure (CD) issuance. You'll ensure the accuracy of all data and strict adherence to product, investor, state, and federal guidelines.
What You'll Do
- Maintain effective communication with all necessary parties involved in closing a transaction to ensure a seamless closing experience.
- Work with internal departments and external organizations to obtain closing-related documentation and necessary information.
- Perform thorough and accurate review of the file to ensure loan compliance with State and Federal guidelines.
- Follow up on rate lock expirations and document expirations.
- Review system of record information to ensure accurate closing documentation can be prepared.
- Perform validation of fees and submit wires to fund all loans within necessary time frames.
- Prepare and Issue CD timely and accurately, reviewing applicable at close conditions, investment required, and cash back at closing.
- Report system and closing document issues to management.
- Test closing documents and custom enhancements for system updates.
- Assist in new employee/contractor onboarding and technical training.
- Aid with expansion of departmental instructional manual/materials.
- Serve as senior member of staff to support Team Lead in answering questions, briefing peers, and providing input on business practices.
- Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards.
- Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulatory issues.

- Complete other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Associate’s degree plus a minimum of 2 years’ prior Mortgage experience
- OR in lieu of a degree, a combined 4 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ prior Mortgage experience.
- Strong PC skills with knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, and email software.
- Specialized knowledge of all product, regulations and policies.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on information provided.
- Versatility and flexibility working within an ever changing fast paced mortgage environment.
- Ability to function independently within time constraints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize daily workload.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliable and dependable.
- Notary Public commission.
Nice to Have
- Prior Mortgage experience in Mortgage Closing whether at a Lender, Title Company or Settlement Agent’s office.
- Solid knowledge of Department software.
