About the Role
Provide expert-level support for MongoDB environments, diagnosing performance issues, guiding configuration best practices, and assisting with deployment strategies for enterprise clients.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex database issues reported by customers
- Analyze MongoDB logs, query patterns, and system metrics to identify root causes
- Guide clients in optimizing database configurations for performance and reliability
- Assist with planning and executing database upgrades and migrations
- Collaborate with engineering teams to report and track software defects
- Document technical solutions and contribute to knowledge base articles
- Respond to support tickets within defined service level agreements
- Conduct remote troubleshooting sessions with client technical teams
- Advise on backup, recovery, and high availability strategies
- Support sharded cluster and replica set architectures
- Evaluate indexing strategies and recommend improvements
- Assist in capacity planning and scalability assessments
- Troubleshoot network and authentication-related database issues
- Provide guidance on security configurations and access controls
- Work rotating on-call shifts to support critical customer environments
- Communicate technical findings clearly to non-specialist audiences
- Stay current with MongoDB release cycles and new features
- Participate in team knowledge-sharing sessions
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers when necessary
- Follow structured processes for issue tracking and resolution
Nice to Have
- Experience with MongoDB Atlas or other cloud database services
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and orchestration platforms
- Exposure to monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
- Certification in MongoDB administration
- Background in database migration projects
- Experience supporting time-sensitive production environments
- Prior work in technical support or customer-facing engineering roles
