Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Inspector II to join the Manheim Express team in Charleston, SC. In this field-based role, you will be responsible for providing accurate and complete documentation of overall vehicle condition using the established Manheim Express Inspection process, directly supporting the company's mission to transform the automotive industry.

What You'll Do

Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer lots safely.
Conduct thorough assessments of vehicle condition following the Manheim Express Inspection process.
Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate information into the inspection system.
Inspect vehicle equipment and options, documenting damage, missing, or inoperable items.
Record vehicle exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components.
Record vehicle interior condition, including seats, dashboard, and options.
Perform basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.
Partner with clients at their location to inspect vehicles and ask for more inventory.
Utilize SalesForce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews.
Inform and educate dealers of changes in auction policies and procedures.
Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all procedures and modeling safe behaviors.

What We're Looking For

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of experience.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed).
100% local travel / field work.
Good communication, interpersonal skills, and strong technical aptitude.
Detail-oriented and motivated to work independently with remote supervision.
Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instruction.
Ability to lift and hold at least 30 lbs. at waist level for an extended period.
Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear; frequently required to crouch, bend, kneel, and reach.
Near vision abilities required to identify dings, scratches, paint work, hail damage, and interior/exterior colors.
Ability to deal with varying lighting conditions.
Physical ability and mental acuity to execute duties successfully within required timeframes.

Nice to Have

Advanced automotive knowledge.
Two years of automotive-related experience.
Experience navigating handheld and other documentation devices.
Body, paint, and mechanical repair knowledge.
Familiarity with unibody and full-frame construction.

Team & Environment

You will function as a member of the Manheim Express team for a designated region, working closely with teammates, field sales, and customer care to create a superior customer experience.

Benefits & Compensation

Hourly pay rate: $14.90 - $22.40/hour.
Eligible for a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month plus seven paid holidays.

Work Mode

This is a 100% field-based role with local travel in the Charleston, SC area.
