About the Role

The Oregon Department of Human Services is hiring a Project Manager (Information Systems Specialist 8) to lead and implement complex, enterprise-wide statewide projects. You will join the EIS Shared Services Project Management Office (PMO), utilizing expert project management methodology to ensure successful project completion on time and on budget.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and implement Enterprise complex statewide projects for the EIS Shared Services Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Utilize expert knowledge of project management methodology to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
  • Facilitate project management processes including budgeting, strategic planning, financial management, schedule & resource management, and legislation coordination.
  • Partner with a diverse group of customers and business stakeholders with shared goals.

What We're Looking For

  • Seven (7) years of information systems experience in information technology project management with applied experience with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodology.
  • OR an Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND 5 years of information systems experience in information technology project management with applied experience with PMBOK methodology.
  • OR a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND three (3) years of information systems experience in information technology project management with applied experience with PMBOK methodology.
  • OR Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in information technology project management with applied experience with PMBOK methodology.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in project management principles, processes, and techniques per PMBOK methodologies within an enterprise information technology environment.
  • Applied knowledge and experience with Microsoft applications particularly focused in MS Project, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Skilled in current technologies, system and process development methods, and the use of computing resources at all levels.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with superiors, subordinates, peers and other agencies and the public.
  • Strong technical analytical skills in support of an enterprise information services environment.
  • Skilled in explaining complex technical processes or procedures to non-technical customers.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the state where the employee resides or provide an acceptable alternate form of transportation.

Nice to Have

  • Project Management Professional Certification awarded by the Project Management Institute and two (2) years of information systems experience in information technology project management.
