About the Role

DaVita is hiring a Director, Special Projects to report directly to the Chief People Officer. This high-impact role supports business strategy development, drives strategic planning, organizes management processes, handles business communications, and supports employee engagement on a national level.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Chief People Officer in crafting and executing strategic initiatives.
  • Organize People efforts and drive collaboration across organizational lanes.
  • Support internal and external communication by crafting and delivering key messages.
  • Identify management process gaps or improvement opportunities, then implement solutions.
  • Lead critical projects working across multiple service lanes; monitor metrics, track progress, and prepare presentations for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate across teams to perform analyses and synthesize results.
  • Lead the development and improvement of a top-performing team.
  • Work across operational and innovation teams to advance best-in-class capabilities.
  • Regularly apprise the CPO of project status and any variations from schedule or scope.
  • Manage and drive strategic and operational initiatives in collaboration with other teams.
  • Structure ambiguous problems into clear workstreams and drive execution.
  • Develop and communicate project scope, timeline, plan, resource requirements, and assumptions.
  • Create, implement, and drive adoption of processes and solutions to further clinical and business outcomes.
  • Communicate project status updates and needs to senior leadership; prepare, report, and manage against targets and goals.
  • Scope, plan, and execute multiple, often quick-turnaround projects with minimal assistance.
  • Design, implement, and administer operating strategies, allocating resources and time commensurate with expected value.
  • Present ideas for special projects that might facilitate the CPO’s and leadership’s objectives.
  • Build relationships within the People Services organization and across diverse departments.
  • Lead through influence, providing strategic guidance and effecting change for the betterment of the overall organization.
  • Direct execution, not just strategic development.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations to share with all levels of leadership.
  • Synthesize numerous analyses, translate them into specific actions, and gain buy-in to execute.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a strategic or operational leadership role.
  • A minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
  • Highly organized, structured working style with strong project management skills.
  • Discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Strong analytic and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail (follow up and follow through are a MUST in this role).
  • GSD and following through on initiatives and projects to successful completion.
  • Poise, tact, and diplomacy under pressure.
  • Influencing others to achieve objectives.
  • Flexibility and openness to frequent schedule/calendar changes and emerging priorities.
  • “Can-do” and results-focused mentality—willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

Nice to Have

  • MBA or graduate degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in Strategy, Consulting with Project Management or a similar role supporting enterprise-level initiatives within healthcare or financial operations leadership.
  • Prior experience in healthcare services and/or working with payors, physician networks, value-based care models, and/or integrated care models preferred.

Team & Environment

This role reports directly to the DaVita Chief People Officer. It works on a national level with central business functions and operating teams.

  • Compensation range: $110,100.00 - $161,700.00 per year.

Work Mode

This is a hybrid position. Denver, Colorado is the preferred location.
