About the Role
The position involves performing high-quality mammographic imaging on a mobile unit, ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate documentation while traveling to different clinical sites.
Responsibilities
- Operate digital mammography equipment on a mobile unit according to established protocols
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms with attention to image quality
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
- Position patients accurately to obtain optimal imaging results
- Explain procedures clearly to patients to ensure understanding and comfort
- Maintain detailed patient records and imaging documentation
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control procedures
- Troubleshoot technical issues with imaging equipment when possible
- Transport and set up equipment at various outreach locations
- Follow infection control practices in mobile and clinical environments
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare staff for patient care coordination
- Ensure mobile unit is stocked with necessary supplies and materials
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
- Complete required continuing education to maintain licensure and certification
- Support patient education initiatives related to breast health
- Respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy
- Follow safety protocols during transit and on-site operations
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating patient appointments
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly to technical support
- Participate in performance improvement activities
- Maintain accurate logs for equipment use and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with MQSA and ACR standards
- Assist in training new staff when needed
- Adapt to changing schedules and site requirements
- Promote equitable access to screening services for underserved populations
