The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is hiring a Mobile Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality breast imaging exams and operate the mobile mammography van, bringing critical health services directly to communities across Arkansas. This position involves significant travel with multiple overnight stays each month to reach rural underserved counties.
What You'll Do
- Operate specialized radiologic equipment to perform high-quality breast imaging exams including mammography and breast ultrasounds.
- Drive the mobile mammography van to events; set up equipment and the van.
- Communicate exam procedures to patients, provide education regarding mammography and breast health, and enlist patient cooperation.
- Obtain patient history and enter it into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Schedule appointments, review previous records, and ensure completed exams and images are in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Enroll patients in the BreastCare Program as appropriate.
- Maintain an adequate level of supplies and keep the workspace clean.
- Maintain and expand knowledge of breast procedures, including ultrasound biopsy, stereotactic biopsy, MRI guided biopsy, and needle localizations, through continuing education.
- Complete other duties as requested.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Graduation from an approved Radiology program.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Mammography.
- Licensed by the State of Arkansas in Radiology.
- Must obtain an Arkansas commercial driver’s license within one year of hire.
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Knowledge of Ultrasound biopsy and Breast imaging.
- Skill in verbal and written communication.
- Skill in organization and prioritization.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and perform high-quality examinations.
Nice to Have
- Two (2) Years / Associate Degree in Radiology.
- One (1) year of experience as a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist/Mammography.
